The music industry can, and will, be changed,wether all people like the new way or not. They can't keep charging for music that nobody is going to pay for, that is just unreasonable. So why not take it a step further, make all music free, but with a catch. What the catch might be, I couldn't begin to dream of at this moment, but there will be one, a small snag in the system that will make the next generation look at ours like we are stupid. It happens.
I would change the system by providing music that isn't the best quality, but is still reasonable for free downloading. But all of the good high-quality, well recorded music, with no fuzz, of static, or any other small errors, be sold for a reasonable price, maybe 99 cents. That way, thowse of us that can't afford, or don't want to pay, that dollar, can have the music, we just won't have the best music.
I personally would prefer to pay for music only if I got a hard copy, like on a cd. I would not want to pay for a song that relys on my harddrive to exist, because what if I had several hundred songs, and my computer crashed and burned? I would be music-less (I know. I know, but it was a real word when I thought of it), and several hundred dollars woulkd have just been wasted.
The system will be changed by the first few people who get high on the food-chain of board members in the music industry, that have been raised with our generaton, that which has had free music for as long as we can remember.
It is important, because as our technological know-how increases, we need to lean to shift reality, make it something new, make new rules, bend the old ones. We need to advance with each generaton, so by changing our music industry, we are bringing ourselves one step closer to changing bigger things, ways of life, all sorts of stuff we've never dreamed of doing.

WOW! I'm supposed to write everything that I've learned this year? That would take FOREVER! But I guess I'll try, I need the good grade. This year I learned the proper way to make a poweroint, and all the reasons why PowerPoint is evil. (Thanks to Phaedrus). I learned how to make an interactive spreadsheet in Excel, to map my earnings and spendings, I could even see how much I could spend on meals each day once I was out of high school with a job. (Let me tell you, it wasn't much at all) I learned Kohlberg's levels of morality, and all of the steps within the levels. That is how we humans base our descisions. I learned how to write HTML to create a website, complete with pictures, sounds, and multiple linked pages. (Of course my dadgum computer crashed and so I no longer have my website). I also learned how to use Inkscape to create a design, and how to upload it to the internet so you can order the design on a T-Shirt, or other cool stuff. Thats all I can remember for now, but I will probably be back to add more later.
5/1/07I think that we obey at the first level of morality, we don't wish to be punished so we don't do anything to get in trouble in the first place. Instead of banning the iPods completely, they should be allowed, and if they are found out to be being used for cheating, have the one students iPod confiscated.That is enough to make us happy by letting us good children listen to our iPods, and not use them fo revil because we will get punished.

OH MY GOSH!! Do you really think that taking iPods away and banning them is gonna stop cheating? I mean, really, who would bother to stop cheating if one thing go tin their way. I know for a fact that several students that have had their iPods taken up, or they don't have them in the first place, have several clever was to cheat and keep it hidden from a distracted teacher. So you see, you should NOT ban iPods from schools. They might as well strip us down and sit us 5 miles apart in an open field with a floor of graffiti-proof paint on it. And we would still have a few ways to cheat, I mean, honestly!! So thats why it shouldn't be allowed to nopt allow iPods in school because you can use them to cheat.

Dear Mr.DeBarr,I would like to inform you that our opinions differ. I beleive that in your theory you are in need of improvement on these thoughts: You say that we cannot type a paper and format it, but guess what, first of all some of us can, and second, the only reason we dont know is because no audult will sit long enough to teach us. We have taught ourselves to text because it is a skill neede to survive these days, but since we don't need to format a report every day, it is not as simple to learn. Also let me bring in the ZPD (zone of proximal development) we all know about texting because it is a big thing, therefor we can learn about it, we might not, but if we know it is there, there is a possibility for us to learn. most of us do not know that you can navigate your way through word to change the type of text and space between the lines, therefor we cannot learn about that. I know I'm just a kid and you are a really big so-and-so proffesor, but think about it.
So far I have learned the proper way to make a powerpoint, and the exact wrong way. I have learned what websafe and full range colors are. Also, some theories like the zone of proximal development. ZPD is like how you cant learn about something if you have never heard about it. This week we started using toufee, this awesome new graphics design thing. Didnt talk to Nate all week...... thats a first. We are going to add audio to our PP's soon, but not this week. We did annoying littlle packets, which I thought we had left behind last year.

We also learned about some websafe colors, and went to a website to look at all 256 colors at once. I found that: R=red, G=green, B=blue, C=cyan, M=magenta, Y=yellow, & K=black. There is no true websafe purple, or orange.
Today I found a pointless site called purple.com here is a link
I used it to demonstrate the fact that there is no true websafe purple.

DTP=You should only put one space after you put a punctuation mark.You shouldn't hit enter more than once at the end of a paragraph. Don't use too many fonts. Use the way that you justify text correctly. Don't use centered text often.Balance your letter size with how long your lines are. Use all CAPS with certain fonts.Use proper punctuation. Use all of the boxes and borders when needed. Use less clip art.Use more whitespace. Reset software document defaults.

This week we talked to nate about the zone of proximal development. I am working on the backdrop for the fall ball. We are getting some pretty cool logos done.

Power points are evil because people don't use them right. Instead of using them for a presentation, the ARE the presentation.
I think that it wouldn’t be a very good idea for the students and teachers in Tarkington to have a completely virtual school system. First of all it would be difficult for the teachers who don’t like computers in the first place, and some students wouldn’t be able to cope with all of the assignments that they would have to type. If we came from a larger school district, then it might be plausible.
It is a very good idea to have one experimental school for trying to see if this might be a cool new way to go to school.
I think that a teacher from 1906 probably couldn’t teach in our US History class because some of the events wouldn’t have happened. A doctor from that time era would be into herbal remedies and all of the medical technology would confuse him.
